Maverick footballer Mario Balotelli has become a dad for the second time; and guess the name of his son… Lion!
Balotelli, 27, who now plies his trade for French Ligue 1 outfit, Nice – already has a four-year-old daughter from a previous relationship with Italian TV presenter Raffaella Fico.
The mother of Balotelli’s second child is known only as Clelia, a Switzerland-based bank worker and part-time model. He has kept his romance with the 26-year-old secret after they reportedly met while on holiday in Sardinia, Mirror writes.
Reports suggest Lion was born on Thursday after Balotelli posted a picture on Instagram of a stairway to heaven with the caption “Felicita”, the Italian word for happiness.
The madcap footie star appears to have ‘grown up’ since the birth of his daughter as he accepted Lion without fuss unlike the previous time when he demanded a paternity test to prove he was the father of Pia.
After he was accused of being “irresponsible” and “not interested” by the mother of his child, he finally accepted paternity in 2014.
The Italy international has had a colourful and controversial career on and off the pitch, creating headlines throughout his stay in Italy and England before moving on to France.
Balo spent three years at Man City and two years at Liverpool, including a one-year loan spell at AC Milan during which time he got engaged to model Fanny Neguesha before she left him for American singer Trey Songz.
He has been in great form for Nice this term, scoring six goals in eight games after hitting 17 last term, and he can now dream of a son to follow in his career footsteps.
