In spite of the recent calls for breakup between the conflicting multi-ethnic groups, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir, the Emir of Katsina has said that Nigeria will continue to remain one.
While giving a speech at his palace on Friday in Katsina state, addressing the igbo community and the other Nigerians living in Katsina, he said he was willing to shed his blood for the sake of peace.
“I am responding to the quit notice given to some Nigerians residing in the North by some group of people who are enemies of peace.
“Here in Katsina, I am ready to sacrifice my last drop of blood to ensure peace and protect all Nigerians residing in the state,” he said.
The Emir assured the communities living in Katsina that they have no need to panic as all necessary measures are being taken by the Emirate Council and the state government to continue peaceful existence.
‘’You are Nigerians because some of you were born here and you don’t have better place than Katsina.
‘’So, continue to conduct your lawful business activities, we are behind you.
‘’You are my sons and daughters like any other person, Katsina is your home, so, feel free do not go anywhere,’’ Kabir said.
He further persuaded them to keep on praying for peace and unity in Nigeria, to ensure sustainable development.
